Community Informatics at Illinois is interdisciplinary.

We also move beyond the academic institution altogether.

Partnering with particular geographic communities, we jointly:

• formulate research questions
• investigate how the implementation of existing information technologies helps the community
• create or improve applications to better serve the community
• discuss and reflect upon what we have learned together
• develop new questions, methods and theories for continued inquiry
